Anthony Davis MVP

Anthony Davis is having a great 2014-2015 campaign. However, he is generally considered to be on the outside looking in for the MVP race. Which is hard to believe, given the historic numbers he’s putting up in PER and Win Shares. This is because his team is currently not in the playoff picture.

Anthony Davis has only been in the league 3 years and he’s made major improvements every year. Two areas we see his improvements are in points per game and rebounds per game. Just like what we did with Russell, we took a quick look to see how Anthony Davis’ per game numbers in 2014-2015 have stacked up to his career numbers. His large improvements have come on his points per game, as seen below.

Another area with Anthony Davis’ impact has been felt is in rebounding. He has also made improvements every year in this category, although not as dramatically as points.

The sky is the limit for Anthony Davis. In his 3 years in the league, he has made major improvements every year, and he is already an MVP candidate. It will be fun to watch his career develop.
